Pinch Pots
A pinch pot is a small, hand-formed ceramic vessel created by pinching and shaping a ball of clay with the fingers.
It’s an ancient and elegant technique, resulting in unique organically formed pottery.
These wabi-sabi stoneware bowls are inspired by the small pools, rocks and worn surfaces I notice along streams and forest paths. The exterior is left raw and tactile, with an uneven surface that feels closer to stone or bark. Inside, matte turquoise and green glazes gather like water in a hollow.
Each bowl is shaped and finished by hand, so the form, texture and glaze vary from piece to piece.
They work beautifully as altar bowls, ritual objects, small serving bowls or simply as sculptural pieces left out on a shelf or table.
High-fired stoneware with food-safe, lead-free glaze.
