Wave Art

The ocean is omnipresent in my work. I find waves particularly intriguing; each one is an ephemeral artwork in its own right.

The ocean wave ceramic vase is wheel-thrown and sculpted from speckled stoneware clay. It stands as a captivating focal point, serving as an eye-catching standalone piece or a vessel for floral arrangements. The exterior, inspired by the rhythmic crashing of waves on sandy shores, has textured surfaces reminiscent of those found in nature. The interior is decorated with a serene turquoise glaze, creating a beautiful interplay against the naturally speckled white exterior. Embrace the coastal essence and organic beauty of this unique ceramic vessel.

    Surge Wave Sculpture

The Surge wave sculpture has a smooth turquoise inside and a textured exterior resembling a wave in motion. Crafted using high-fire stoneware clay and glaze.

My new ceramic wave sculptures (created in 2023) originated from a plaster cast of my belly during my 2020 pregnancy. The mold sat in my studio as a beautiful reminder for a couple of years. I wasn’t really sure what to do with it. Then it hit me—the shape could be used to make waves. Thus, I started phase 2 of my ceramic wave sculpture journey. Check out ‘Serenity in Motion‘ my initial wave sculpture collection from 2019.
