Wave Art
The ocean is omnipresent in my work. I find waves particularly intriguing; each one is an ephemeral artwork in its own right.
This one-of-a-kind large ceramic bowl evokes the movement and mystery of a stormy sea. Layered glazes in mossy green, ash gray, and sandy beige cascade across the surface like turbulent waves breaking on a rocky coast. Hand-thrown in stoneware and fired with a richly textured glaze that reveals itself differently from every angle.
The interior is glazed in a deep coastal green with natural variations and subtle thickness in places—offering a tactile reminder that this piece was formed by hand, not machine. Ideal as a statement salad or serving bowl, it balances beauty with functionality.

Food-safe glaze. Hand wash recommended.Hand-thrown in sandy stoneware and layered in a wash of turquoise glaze, this vase captures the quiet movement of the coast—where land meets sea and everything softens. The surface features wave-like swirls and foamy, cratered textures, echoing the rhythm of saltwater on stone.
Its gently flared form and natural matte finish give it a grounded, effortless feel. Whether holding flowers, reeds, or simply standing alone, it brings a breath of coastal calm to your space.
Wheel-thrown. One of a kind.
Height 19cm (7.5″), Base width 10cm (4″), Top width 9cm (3.5)
This hand-thrown stoneware vase captures the essence of a tide-washed shoreline. Layers of sandy beige, foamy white, and soft turquoise glaze flow across the surface like waves meeting the coast. The texture is subtle yet full of depth—bubbled and reactive where glaze and form meet, evoking seafoam and sunlit shallows.
Its slightly curved form gives it a gentle, grounded presence—perfect on its own or holding fresh or dried flowers. A coastal keepsake made on the Mediterranean, equally functional and sculptural.

This sculptural vase begins on the wheel in speckled stoneware, then I alter and shape the rim by hand to create the movement across the top. The form was inspired by waves breaking against a rocky shoreline, especially the way water folds, lifts and changes direction as it hits the coast.
Inside, a deep turquoise glaze pools across the surface and moves over the rim. Around the transition, a volcanic glaze creates areas of bubbling texture that remind me of sea foam caught between rock and water. I leave much of the lower body exposed so the speckled clay stays visible and gives the piece a quieter, earthy base.
At 33 cm high and 27 cm wide, it has enough presence to stand alone in a room. The altered rim gives you a different view as you move around it, which is one of the things I enjoy most about this piece.

One of a kindThe Swell sculpture captures the essence of the ocean’s fluidity and strength. The contrast of a smooth, dark turquoise interior with a textured, frothy exterior emulates a wave in motion, inviting tactile exploration. Crafted with high-fire stoneware clay and glaze, this piece marries the material’s durability with the ephemeral beauty of natural water forms.
The inspiration for Swell began with a deeply personal and transformative experience. In 2020, I created a plaster cast of my belly during my pregnancy, which became a cherished memento in my studio. For a couple of years, the mould stood as a beautiful reminder of that time, but its potential for further artistic expression was unclear. In 2023, a moment of clarity led me to see the shape as a wave, marking the second phase of my ceramic wave sculpture journey.

Rough Seas captures the movement and energy of water in a moment of turbulence. The piece is made from black stoneware clay, layered with glaze and glass that melt and shift during firing. In the kiln, these materials flow together, creating textures that feel like waves breaking, currents colliding, and water pulling back across the surface.
The result is an abstract landscape of depth and motion. Subtle light tones and deep blues emerge from the dark clay body, echoing the changing colors of ocean water under shifting light.
Designed as a hanging ceramic wall sculpture, the piece can be displayed individually or as part of a larger arrangement of plates. It is not suitable for serving food.

In this homage to the sea, an interplay of warm and cool colors converge, infusing the room with dynamic movement and allure. This Mosaic Wave artwork, crafted through the Trencadís technique, showcases a harmonious fusion of fragmented ceramics from my studio and select stones sourced from Barcelona’s shoreline.
Comprising two panels, this mixed media artwork features clay meticulously applied onto a sturdy wooden surface. The juxtaposition of colors creates a captivating dialogue, reminiscent of the ever-changing tides and the enchanting rhythm of the ocean. The textured surface beckons viewers to trace their fingers across the arrangement of ceramic fragments, forging a deeper connection with the artwork.

This large ceramic bowl is handcrafted in stoneware and shaped with an organically rising rim. The surface is layered in textured glazes of deep teal, soft sand and stormy gray, mimicking the rugged transitions of tide-washed shores.
The interior glaze pools in shifting greens with subtle irregularities that speak to its handmade nature—slightly thicker in some areas, softly pitted or mottled in others. These natural variations catch the light beautifully and add a tactile depth that feels like something uncovered, not made.
Generously sized for serving or simply standing on its own as a sculptural centerpiece.
