This is an earlier piece that helped shape this collection. Looking back at it now, I can already see many of the ideas that would later grow into the Faultline series.
The bottle-shaped form is wheel-thrown in stoneware and finished with layers of glaze flowing over the surface. The lower half developed a network of delicate cracks through a controlled process of drying, compression and firing, with iron oxide settling into every mark. The result feels somewhere between landscape and weathered earth.
This small decorative vessel is intended to be enjoyed as an object in its own right.

This vase has a much subtler texture than the rest of the collection. I love how the bright matte turquoise glaze becomes the focus here, while the textured surface below quietly supports it.

Instead of opening into broad fractures, this piece developed a network of fine vertical cracks that bring a quieter rhythm to the form. As I shaped the clay, I gradually pushed the form away from a simple vessel, allowing the suggestion of a female figure to emerge more clearly. The body is not added to the surface but grows from it, becoming another landscape shaped by pressure, movement and time.
The exterior is finished with iron oxide, allowing the texture and form to remain the focus, while the glazed interior offers a quiet contrast.

One of my favourite pieces from this first Faultline collection. There’s something about its simplicity, darker clay body and organic rim allow the texture to take centre stage.

This piece is named number seven more for “lucky 7” than by chronology. It was actually the very first piece that inspired this entire series.
It grew from a need to let go of control and push the clay to its limits. As tension built, the surface fractured naturally, revealing the clay’s internal movement and its urge to shift into a new form. I’m drawn to this threshold where breaking becomes structure and collapse becomes possibility. For me, this work is about accepting change, letting the material lead, and recognising that transformation often begins by breaking open.
The finished surface reminds me of tree bark or sun-baked earth. The fractures create an almost woven texture, with the iron oxide settling into every crack and the matte black rim framing the form above.

Please note: The base has a small surface crack that wasn’t cleaned before firing, along with a minor glaze mark. Neither is visible during display or affects the functionality of the piece. There is also a slight movement in the matte black glaze around part of the rim, reflecting the handmade nature of the firing process.

Earthy, bold, and unapologetically wild, this unique sculpture began on the wheel with rich black stoneware clay, then was hand-altered to break away from traditional form. Its shape, slightly off-center and full of movement, evokes the raw shifts of molten earth.
Layers of golden and umber glazes and textural surface effects give it an almost geological quality. This piece feels ancient and elemental—like something unearthed after a volcanic event. A striking sculpture for shelves, altars, or anywhere that calls for a bold, grounding presence.

The Faultline Everyday Cup brings the textures of the Faultline series into daily life.
Each cup is wheel-thrown in a mocha-colored stoneware clay and finished with the same combination of controlled cracking, iron oxide and my signature matte turquoise glaze. Because every surface develops differently during firing, no two cups are ever exactly alike.
I designed these to be the kind of cup you reach for every day—whether for water, coffee, tea or whatever you’re drinking. Comfortable to hold and made to be used, they bring the Faultline collection off the shelf and into everyday life.
