I feel most at peace listening to the flow of a river, the crashing of ocean waves, or the serene stillness of a quiet lake. There’s an inexplicable comfort in the presence of natural bodies of water. It feels like coming home.

A journey of self discovery with clay and nature
I discovered a natural passion for working with clay at a young age, finding solace and a sense of connection with my hands in the mud. The woods near my Portland, OR home provided a sense of liberation, while the clay studio became my haven of creative expression. Even as I mistakenly pursued more conventional career paths, ceramics and time in nature remained steadfast companions guiding me to uncover the significance and meaning behind my experiences.
Through trials and challenges, including moving to a foreign country in my early twenties and the untimely passing of my mother, clay and nature offered me healing and peace of mind. These experiences empowered me to discover new harmonies in both my personal life and creative work, leading me to explore diverse themes within my art.
Through my work, I have the privilege of sharing my ideals and core values with the world. Mindfulness, environmentalism, feminism, and compassion for all beings are at the heart of my creative expression. I share background info and insights into my process on my blog as well as on FrikiFish, an online magazine I founded to showcase stories about art and emerging talent in Barcelona.
