Bloom, Sculpture Vase
The Bloom ceramic sculpture captures the essence of nature in its fullest expression. It was created with stoneware clay using a variety of ceramic techniques. Wheel-throwing creates smooth, fluid forms, while hand-sculpting introduces unique, expressive details. The use of speckled clay provides a rich, visually interesting texture and adds an organic, natural dimension to the sculpture. The deep turquoise glaze brings in cool water tones that add a refreshing contrast to the speckled base.
Bloom draws inspiration from the natural world, capturing the interplay of earth, water, and plant life. The sculpture’s forms and textures awaken the warmth and stability of the earth, while the color brings the calming presence of water. These elements come together to create a piece that is both grounded and alive, reflecting the interconnectedness and beauty of the natural environment.
By combining elements that represent the earth, water, and plant life, this piece invites you to contemplate the cycles of growth and renewal in the natural world. The use of traditional and contemporary ceramic techniques underscores the connection between human creativity and the environment.

Care instructions
Ceramic tableware and cookware is safe to use in the microwave, dishwasher and oven (as long as you avoid thermal shock—never put hot ceramics on a cold surface). When removing a hot dish from the oven, place it on a wooden surface, towel or hot-pad to cool down. Do not use ceramic vessels on the stove-top as it heats up too fast and will crack.

I carefully package each item in sustainable/recycled materials such as paper and cardboard. Many items are double-boxed for extra protection and some large artworks are shipped in a wooden crate.
